I have a full floater 60 that I want to put in my Cruiser. Is it a bitch to put disc's on and get rid of the drums? Any part numbers or advice. The spindle looks long after taking the drum parts off. The wheel studs are also on the drums. Aren't 14 bolt conversions simular? Thanks

Does your Dodge 60 have 3" drums? If so, those spindles are so long that you need 1.3"-ish spacers to place the caliper bracket where it needs to go.

Eric, i believe they are. and the wheel studs are mounted to them as well, which is what worried me.

The studs are mounted to the bearing hub which has to be reused for the disc brake conversion.

Gunmetalcruz,

Can you take a pic of them for us?

I used Chevy 3/4 ton (8 lug) Dana 44 front rotors which fit perfectly behind the D60 hub. Just used longer wheel studs and an AA premade weld-on bracket for the calipers.
I did have the skinny rear drums though, so I don't know if that make a difference.

What wheels and backspacing are you running with these setups? I was possibly considering converting mine as well.

Eric, wife has the camera, left today for a wedding, the wheels are going to be 3 to 3/2 bs getting them and IROC 39's from lake rat. The biggest thing I am conserned about is converting from 31 to 35 spline in the rear. The spindles are way to skinny and center boring looks like a pain in the ass. Is there any options on this?

No, you need to have the spindles opened up in order to run 35 spline shafts. Your spindles are probably 1.4" ID, and mine are 1.6" ID so I can run the 35 spline shafts. If your spindle is like mine, then I would not weld a bracket onto it. Most of these guys are welding onto the axle tubes, not the spindle. If you look at the pic of the TSM setup above, you will notice that it won't work with your axle the way it is shown. You need to bolt the ring to the axle flange like it is shown, but you need to mount the spacers and the caliper bracket on the spindle side since the Dodge flange is so far inboard. I don't know what the metal properties are for the Dodge spindles so I was not about to weld braking components to something I don't know about. I had Jack Rice make me a set of rear disk brackets and spacers for my axle. I used 3/4 ton Chevy D44 front rotors and big Eldorado calipers. I had to grind down the calipers a little to clear my rims (3.5" BS). I left my camera at home so I will see if I can take a pic for yor in the next few days.
