Peter the one that I built is on the front of Fc187's rig. The FJ55. He will probably catch this post and lay out some pics.
He's got the proto- type, the test model. He's put it thru it's paces over and over again this summer, couples times on the Rubicon, Niagra rim, and Slick Rock.
It's proved itself to be an awesome driveline!
It's stroke / travel is damn near un-limited which makes it a great trail spare cause it'll fit front or rear, give or take 12 inches.
It's super heavy duty, with very comon u-joints (1310's I believe)
mated to custom machined LC flanges.
I'd be willing to bet that this is a shaft that will never twist up like some we've all seen on the trail :) No fear of separation due to a radical suspension either.
I'll be changing to a Dana Transfer case soon and when I do I'll be using my new driveshaft front and rear. If I only had a little bit more time...........

hey Peter, whats up.
That shaft rocks! fricken brick shit house:D
Red dog can give you the specifics but from what I understand it is some kind of ind. drive shaft material. kinda like ag pto material but with tighter tollerances and the inner member is lined with some sort of self lubricating synthetic material.
the diam is about the same as stock LC dl. The inner stock is damn near solid:eek: :D with a 1" hollow void than runs down the middle. As with most heave duty long slip dl's dont expect to ballance it :D
I never had an issue with its ballance, you realy dont need 4wd at high speeds on these rigs (rock crawler).
on the front of my 55 it has about 18 inches of slip with 5 inches still inside. Plenty for my SR.
Like red dog said, the long ass slip makes for a good spare too.
Right now I am on 69cruisers comp (mine is:nuke: ) so I cant post any pics sorry:(

Are you sure bud? I've had to drive the Dog House back from the 'con twice on front wheel drive only! The second time pulling the jet skis. I was damn glad my front shaft was balanced! 5 to 6 hours is a long time with an unbalanced front shaft. On another note: I was also glad I had a front locker too. Ever try to drive in front wheel drive with an open diff? It'll change lanes without warning and always when another car is on coming!:D :usa: :nuke: :fj:
