Anybody get anything accomplished? I did some little stuff but nothing major. I did some more wiring, put my new revised Super Arms on, reconnected the tie rod/drag link using new poly TRE boots and installed my new brake lines. 32" long front lines and a 28" line out back. That's about all I managed to get done on the rig....

Nothing too exciting, just spent 6 hours working on the drivers side rocker. The arms are welded in place, all ends capped, and the high-lift engagement points are done. I still need to grind down some of welds, and touch up a few spots.

Didn't do anything to the rigs. I need to stay away from the shop for a few days.

Slapped my 500 and D20 back together and bolted all of those up and positioned them in the scout, so we can figure where abouts to mount them......thats about it.

Finished my heads. :bounce:

Tried to fix the gas tank leak on Michelle's 800, but didn't.

Tried to dial back the electric fuel pump so it'd stop overpowering the inlet needle, but couldn't do that, either.

I suck. :D

I'll visit the parts store and double check I'm adjusting the pressure correctly (not increasing it!), and get a *copper washer* for the gas tank (not the O-ring I slapped on) and maybe yank the "cover" to have a look-see while I fill it next time.

Still need to get the DPDT switch installed to replace the fuel gauge switch so it'll operate the fuel valve at the same time, too.

But at least I got the heads done.

Oh.. did my good-deed on Saturday - we volunteered some time at Habitat for Humanity. :D

Spent the weekend in the Scout out house-hunting. Not enough time to get underneath it and do any of the much needed work.

I added a vent line to my power steering pump, cut some mounting tabs, made a template for my beer cooler rack. Rest of the weekend was yard work and beer drinkin:D

Had the whole weekend set aside to install my new trans and get it all back together. Finnished early on Sat so I decided to go ahead and lower my rig like I've been wanting to for some time. Lowered the front about 3" or so. I still need to mess with the rear but I think that will be easy.
I think I'm going to like it much better, lower.:)

Was using the scout to air up my trailer tires Thursday night in preparation to load up and head out for the Texas Pirate Party the next morning, when the transmission that I had been working on for two weeks prior decided to self destruct while sitting there. I stayed home, and the scout is still sitting in the same spot.

That really sucks!! I'm a manual tranny guy and don't know much about the autos, but I've heard the 727 doesn't oil in Park. If you idle it for long, I've been told you should block the wheels and slip it into Neutral so it will oil while it's just sitting there. Can anybody confirm that?

I finally got the tub back on the frame (Took an hour to take off and 6 months to put on), routed fuel lines, drank beer, cussed at the shackles for being angled to the front of the truck even after the body and top were put on. Thats about it.

Got Scout plumbed and wired again. Running at last! Going to the cage builder Wed. Went wheelin in Boss' early Bronco and vented some frustrations. Feeling much better now but not 100% until Scout is finished.

Snoop, i got the spool from Randy's Ring and Pinion, i got the spool, and new carrier bearings to my door for $289 i believe.

HARKINOFF!! How much you want for those tires??? i got a price of 179.99 a piece for the 37/12.5/15 Goodyear MTR's new. Thats the best i could find. If you are serious and have a good price on those maybe we could, make a deal ;)

Yes, I can confirm that. I don't know why I put it in park, I had been leaving it in neutral all day when I would let it sit idling, but when I pulled up beside the trailer I shoved it up in park by habit, then idled the engine up for the air compressor.

When I got back in it after airing the tires it would no longer move.

Still piddling with some brake issues. Getting ready to swap in a bigger M/C...4wheel disc 70's camaro....I only needed a $2.59 part to complete the swap but when you are wrenching in BFE at 4:00 pm on a Saturday there is not a place to spend that $2.59.

Guess the brakes will have to wait a little longer.

Since I couldn't start the swap due to missing pieces I took it for a spin and then I gave it bath :flipoff2: to wash away a years worth of grime. Its nice and purty now.

That is all.

??? I have idled mine for extended periods of time in park without damaging it. In park, there is no transferance of power to the tranny. The flexplate spins the torque converter, and the torque converter spins the oil pump. But with no pressure to the torque converter, the tranny input shaft does not receive any torque and the body of the tranny does not move. The oil pump is still spinning, pulling oil and lubricating itself, but the fluid is diverted back to the pan, instead of through the torque converter. I would be surprised to hear that the trannies are designed in a way that will harm them if they are allowed to idle for a long period of time.

Speaking of auto trannies, my shift lever seal is starting to leak again.... Grrr.

Sorry 'bout your Grampa Snoop.

I THOUGHT I was gonna get a lot done. Real busy welding the outer ring on my redneck reinforced diff cover when my welder died.
