I have a 302 v8 and I have no idea what year the motor is. I think it's late 70's. Where can I find a number on the block to identify it. Once I find the number, any of you guys have a good website or a link to somewhere where I can decifer the number?

the casting numbers are right above the starter on the block ..the website i had doesnt seem to be coming up but if you want to post the casting numbers i can run them thru one of my books...take it easy:D

OK, I looked and I don't see a number by the starter! Should I be able to see it, or do I need to pull the starter? Anywhere else it could be?

You should be able to see it with out haveing to take the starter off ...have you tried useing a mirror and light ...just a thought
