I got a 91 bronco and i am getting new gears for it. I will be running 37 or 38 inch tires and was wandering what size gears to get. I want to still have some top speed like 75-80. So i was wandering if the 4:88 will be too much gear or if they will work out fine.

If your 91 has an overdrive, then go for the 4:88's. You can still do 80 without revvin' the motor out....

Yes i do have overdrive, so i guess the 4:88 will be it, i was just afraid they might be toooooo low.

with that size tire and an overdrive I'd be looking at a 5.38 as a minimum, possibly even deeper, as I have 5.38's going in my EB daily driver with 38.5 tsl/sx's and no overdrive

I am running 4.88's in my 73EB and I have 35" tires and a NV4500 w/OD so at 80mph I am at 3,000RPM. I would go with 4.88 and not any higher due to a weaker pinion gear. Just my $0.02

forget regearing... start praying that 8.8 doesn't split into 8 pieces when it sees your 38's. :D :D :D

Where's Rob? He's got those superior axles FS

Go 4.88

Go 5.13's... Good highway speeds (with OD) and good low gears at the same time.
