I have been reading the posts on this forum for about a month now and find it very helpful and informative. However, for fear that some of my questions are not "hardcore enough," I have not posted them. I'm not from JU. I went there once, but didn't see much room for a CJ. I have done most of my forum-ing at Dirtroad.com's forum. I've owned my '82 CJ-7 my whole life and am saving money and parts to start modifying the suspension (SOA with SRS) and drivetrain (4.0L head, headers, cat-back). If anyone is willing to offer any suggestions on some of these mods, outside what I have read from current and past threads, then I'm very willing to listen. Adios! Oh, one more thing, I'm new to Central Texas and am trying to find mild to moderate trails that I can run with my mostly stock CJ and then continue to run--post mods. Thanks.

Not really new, Just don't have alot to say. Answer most of my questions in search. 87YJ, and as soon I iron out my V-8 cooling problems and figure out where the tranny leak is coming from, I'm going to go try to break my front axel so I can upgrade(60 60 60 60!).

I've been trying to post for a few weeks now but haven't had any luck. I have 2 Jeeps in my 4x4 fleet but I love anything with a transfer case, well pretty much anything. So feel free to flame cause sticks and stones may break my bones, but whips and chains excite me.

Just checking in...

Got tired of the other boards, "where do I get chrome exhaust tips", etc.

About to rework my TJ, it currently has Dana 30/35 axles with 4.56 gears and Detroits, swapping a 44 in the rear this weekend with the same.

The Jeep was torn up in the Fort Worth tornado almost exactly a year ago. It sure makes it fun to bang around, no pretty paint to worry about!

Guess I am a newbie here though I have been using this board for a couple months so I thought I would introduce myself.I live in the San Francisco bay area and drive an 87 YJ that was stock a year ago.It is my first Jeep and did all the mods either by myself or with help from guys that I met from this board. So far have 2 1/2 in RE suspension lift,1/2 in RE lift shackles,1 in. JKS bodylift with 33x12.50x15 BFG mud terrains on canyon crawler rims. It's the bigger tires, etc that we add with our lifts that increase vehicle weight and decrease gas mileage and power. Consider regearing and bypassing the 31"s going directly to 33"s or 35"s. I doubt that you need any lift for 31"s though.

BTW, I am going to be getting a 3" lift sometime within the next month. I'm keeping the 30's for daily use, (It's still a daily driver for the time being)and I will be getting a set of 33's for the trail. We'll have to head to Hollister again so I can tackle some of those bigger obstacles!

I have an '87 YJ, added a 3.5" BDS lift and 33s. It's a start. I'll be adding a body lift soon, and more lift after lockers and a new carb. It's got a hardtop, doors, and A/C <IMG SRC="smilies/thefinger.gif" border="0"> And lotsa chrome too. Well I bought it that way, we'll see what stays and what gets trashed as time goes on.

I'm comin' from JU and, though I'll keep posting over there, I'm tired of all the repetitive bullshit and oil filter questions. <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0"> Hope it's better over here.

I once had a JU sticker on my Jeep, will I now have a POR sticker? Looks like I just might. By the way, from what I've seen ya'll have some awesome rigs over here.

Hi my name is Rick Masters, I am from New Florence PA. I have a 95 yj 4 banger 5 speed. I still have stock axles but I did put in Detroits front and rear with 4.56 gears. My jeep Mudpuppy has a 4.5 RE lift and I have the tailshaft conversion on it. I do what ever trails I can around here but there are not a whole lot of them. I have been to Telico twice and last year drove out to Moab and down to San Dieago and went to Cleaveland National forest and did Bronco Hill If there is anyone from the Pittsburgh PA area that wants to ride around give me a buzz.

Hey, everyone.

Paul here, from JU, ILJ, and Q-tec.

Mine is a '90 YJ with a 4.2L I-6, AX-15 transmission, NP231 transfer case, and two Detroit locked axles.

My mods also include: A 2" BDS chassis and 2" PA body lifts, Trailmaster SSV shocks, Warn HS 9500i, Bestop Trailmax Pro seats, Tomken dual battery tray, Optima Yellow. Tomken rear bumper/tire carrier.

Other mods not mentioned.

My 'Redhead' is running on 33x12.50 MT/Rs mounted to AR-767s.

Hi there, I'm not really new, but I've never registered untill now, (Because of the driveshaft, I'm just finishing my SOA on my '85 CJ7 with front YJ leafs, rebuit Scout Dana 44's F&R, Spool rear, detroit front, 4.88's, 4wheel disc's & 9012's all around 16x35x15 boggers on whitespokes. Currie shakles and steering brace.
