: I killed him
jeepyj 06-24-2003, 06:35 PM That fat woodchuck thats been raiding the garden. His holes are next to the road and between my house and the good neighbors. (Not the other neighbors) I couldn't shoot him without shooting from the road or at the road. (Or at one of the houses). I heard that if you poke holes in an apple, then soak it overnight in antifreeze, and toss it down the hole, no more woodchuck. I didn't get the chance to see if that works. I was on my way home and he was sitting in the road looking the other way. I don't know why he didn't hear the mud tires. THUMP THUMP. I had to take the wrong side of the road to get him. Ha Ha Ha. Got the little bastid.:D
ForestCam 06-24-2003, 06:39 PM Did ya go pick 'em up and make a nice stew? Tain't proper ta let fresh roadkill go to waste.:D
SanDiegoCJ 06-24-2003, 06:39 PM I'm going to sic PETA on you. :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
jeepyj 06-24-2003, 06:47 PM I was just feeding the turkey vultures... Honest...
They were on him in less than an hour.
Don "Woody" Woodward 06-24-2003, 07:04 PM LMAO good job.
I was visiting my mom a couple years ago & spotted one in her garden. I ran to the lil bro's room and fetched his bow... sneaked out the front door and got into the stalk-mode going around back to the garden. The big assed rat would bend down to take a bite & I'd gain a half step... pure cat & mouse LOL.
I got in to like 5 yds (close enough for a shot with a strange-new to me- bow) then I hear the sliding glass door open and Mom starts hollering "Don't Kill Woody! He's Our Pet!"
I was like WTF! Your "pet" gopher is raiding the lettuce patch! By then it haulled ass down it's hole so I gave up.
Mom didn't buy the "make a nice pair of mittens" line...damn yankee liberals
jeepyj 06-24-2003, 07:16 PM Good thing it was your brothers bow. I shot one with my bow when I was deer hunting. They don't die right away. The little bastid took my 12 dollar arrow right down his hole.

WTF, was he living in a freaking sewer? How in the hell did he run down the hole with an arrow in him?
Franklin 06-25-2003, 07:10 AM an 80lb bag of concrete and a water hose works for filling up holes. There will be another one back next year.
79broncn 06-25-2003, 08:05 AM Destructive little critters, fo sho. Wife was pissed as they've been
chewin' her flower tops off. She said, "Can't ya just shoot 'em or
something?" God I love this woman. :D Got out the Colt...
and snuck up on it, nice and quiet like. BLAM! One to the head.
Almost comical to watch the endo it did as it slid into the den.
axle59 06-25-2003, 08:07 AM Stick a road flare down the hole and cover it up. He won't be returning.
Oh yeah, light it first.:flipoff2:
We use all the old lead shot that is laying around on Muskrats:D
SilverZuk 06-25-2003, 08:20 AM I’d like to have a nickel for every one I’ve toasted, that coons and crows.
I’ll swerve clear off the wrong side of the road hit one of those fat bean-clipping bastards. They are cute until they get into your garden or under your house. I’ve thumped quite a few with a bow and arrow, killed one with a big stick caveman style, and shot literally truck loads of them.
Lame,
Why don’t you use lead shot? We hunt everything except federal waterfowl with it.
Old Scout 06-25-2003, 08:29 AM If you need to poison a rodent, using antifreeze is cruel. It's a slow and painful death. Use something stronger!

It's the rules:confused: I really don't hunt, well unless you consider shooting muskrats on the golf course hunting:D

Agreed, if you've got to kill, make it fast.

Not much is faster than a 22-250. :D

Lucky yall only have muskrats to deal with. I've got skunks, don't want to shoot that next to the house.
And a 30-06 is faster than a 22-250.
Actually, according to Remington's own website, the 22-250 is significantly faster. Both ammo types I compared were basic Reminton UMC ammo.

Interesting... the 22 loses 400 ft/sec more in the same distance.

Yes, I was setting myself up for this one. Now look at, dammit I'm working on the link.
Try a screen print next time... ;)
It is a proven fact - red X's have very little to do with ballistics.
