I've wanted an EB for quite some time. I've got a fullsize running 1ton stuff and coilovers so it's not gonna be for offroading, just cruising around in and maybe very light offroad. Can you find these things for under $5000?? All I want is a good body on it. I can fix anything else, but I don't want to do body work. Or should I buy a crappy one and put fiberglass tub on it? Everybody wants like $10,000 for one that's already fixed up
Anyone got any leads??

You just have to look for a good body. I paid $250 for a 66 with a rust free but bent and bondod body, and when I was 16 I paid $3500 for a completely rusted out bondod over rust holes 71. Look at both doorposts for rust and the floorpanels and rocker panels and rear corners. look at the body seam around the tailgate it will always be spread out some at the top, but try to find one that is fairly straight. If you want disc brakes auto and power steering go for the 76-77 if you are driving it on the street the stock stuff is great and it is probably a lot cheaper to buy one with what you want than to swap it in. This would be the exact opposite of what i did.

Do you have any info on it? If it is worth it, I can have it shipped here for $7-800 of course this makes selling price a little more sensitive, but my brother has bought 2 jeeps from accross the country. Thanks EBSteve

depending on what you want the hood has a hole cut in it but other than that I recall the body being in good shope it needs paint but there does not seem to be much rust the price is rite ( 1500-1800 I can't remember ) It runs and drives but is a 3 on the tree and a small inline 6. Let me know if you are intrested.

Thanks EBSteve, but that's a little more bare than I was hoping for. Maybe if I had an engine to drop into it. I guess now I'm starting to see that you can buy em cheap but you get what you pay for. I think I need to do a little research and find out how hard engine swapping and power steering and what not is.
