: Oiling Question for clocked D300 tcase

I run a D300 tcase in my TJ that is clocked so it is flat (but still passenger side drop).
If I fill it up until oil come out the fill hole then it is taking WAY more oil then it originally took, and it leaks out the breahter hose, and somewhere else (not sure where since I redid all the seals).

So my question is, for those of you running clocked D300 tcases: what do you do about the gear oil? Fill it until it come out? For those of you that do that, does it leak? Put a certain number of quarts in? Suggestions?

Thanks,
Phil

I clocked mine pretty high but still fill it to the bottom of the fill plug. The oil level now is at just about centerline of the rear output... which is fine by me because I don't want to worry about the TC when towing it.
Fix the vent leak by running hose from ALL your cases to a high spot. I've got three (front axel, 5 speed & TC) running up to the top of my firewall and the rear axel vent is way up in the rear corner panel. Then you can worry a little less when fording streams too ...

What he said. My D300 is clocked like Jaffer's and it's breather
hose is at the top of the firewall. I got just a bit of fluid out of
the breather for a while and then it stopped. No worries on
flat towing.
