flywheel question [Archive]

I'm in the process of putting a 305 that originally had a 700r4 to a TH-400. Will the 700r4 flywheel work with the 400? anything else I should know about? Thanks

Most flywheels have a dual bolt pattern so you should be ok. If yours does not you can either oval the holes that are in it(if you need to) or buy a flywheel with the dual bolt pattern. I picked up one from summit for $50 thats suppose to be a little lighter than stock for my 454. Did you get the torque converter with it? If not you can just by one with the correct pattern.
