I'm running 33/12.5 BFG A/T's on my stock axles with no problems so far (except several U-joints, since fixed with a better drive shaft). I'm open in the rear, lockwrong up front with birf rings.

I've successfully ran 33x14.5 boggers for a year now with no breakage. I stay off the gas when krawling and pick my lines carefully. I don't do anything stupid either. I also am mostly on dirt trails as well.

in my opinion 31s are the cut off. My brother in law has 33s and a good amount of gear and seems to have to do to much maintenance on and off the trail, including birfields. 31 are safe and sane.

Get Brent Bradshaws trail tough birfields and you'll be ok!

I wheeled with 35" boggers and 5.12 gears with Brents birfields and never broke one!

I also had dual ARB's and wheeled open often!

Im just like TinTop... 33x14 stock axles for now...got 4runner axles in the garage getting work. I stay off the gas, pick lines carefully, and just have fun. Break it, fix it, run it again:p

Hi all. I am new to this forum. I’ve been lurking for a week or so just checking things out. I thought I would show you a Pic of the Zuk I bought two weeks ago. According to the old owner it has a 3" SPOA, and it does have 31x10.50's. It came with a stock transfer case and a grenaded Rockcrawler from Calmini installed. According to the old owner it is board 20 over with a Calmini cam as well as the Calmini webber / header kit. It also was in desperate need of a clutch, and the rear diff is leaking at all 3 corners. The old owner didn't install a battery tie down sot the battery had damaged the wire loom. The old owner also liked to use wire nuts instead of actual solder and shrink tube. I have repaired the wiring, the stock t-case has been put back in (until I can afford the parts to repair the Rockcrawler), I am waiting for the machine shop to finish the fly wheel as I type, so the clutch will be done. Next month I reseal the rear diff, and get it aligned.
I’m not new to off roading, but I am new to Zuks so in that respect I am a Zuk newbe. :)

You would have to call longfield to talk about zuk birfs.. You would use rear side gears in the front for the 26 spl inner to fit.

Later, Scott

I run 33's and i do the stupidest shizzit with my sammi I have a narrowed kick rear with sammi axles and in the front i am stock other than the kick hubs and aluminum dropout with 5.12's I broke the aluminum dropout housing allready and will upgrade it into a cast housing soon....probably sooner if it brakes before i get a 1.6 in there:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

Mine are stock except for the lockers.
I can clear 33's easily, but stick with 31's for reliability and to avoid having to gear down further.
I have a 4:1 t-case gears.

I ran 32's for a while (with a GRS II, 4.62's and lockers), they started to twist every spline (front and rear) in under a year. If you want to beef up the stock birfields just install the rings, the front axle shaft becomes the weak link.

I ran 31's, berf rings and 4.16 in t-case for a couple of years and worked fine. When I upped the tire size I had lots of breakage, so now I run Toy axles.

I'm running 34s swampers SPUa with Old Man Emu rear springs all round with a rear air locker, 4:1 diff gears and a 6:1 tcase on stock Suzi axles and haven't broken anything. Also have a nother zuk setup the same but with a front air locker too and so far no breakage

Run 31's, Lockrights in both diff's, and a GRSII and you'll go everywhere you want.
