I just bought a 16" Perma cool eletric fan. i attempted to install this thing tonight. The space between the waterpump and radiator is very slim. not enought room for the fan. I believe that i can put the fan on the other side of the radiator. If i remove the airconditioner radiator thingy and cut some in front there, i can put the fan on that side. My question is, is this a good idea or not? or does anyone have experience putting a permacool 16inch with a 3inch body lift and a 1991 trooper?

v6 or 4cyl trooper?

I'm about to shove a 16" electric on my junk too... mine's a V6 and it looks like there SHOULD be plenty of room. ??

v6 i placed the fan in there and the bolts from the waterpump are touching the motor of the fan.

sounds weird...did you pull the clutch for the fan.and leave the radiator in it's original position on the body?

also you can off set the fan slightly to clear the water pump.

how about a pic of this

You sure the fan is pulling/pushing air in the correct direction?

yeah the odd thing about the directions is RED is - and black is + i i read that over and over. making sure its correct. its setup as a puller for most effectiveness.

did you put the factory fan shroud back on after you put the Perma cool in?

negative, i did however find a small coolant leak near the thermostate housing.

i think i fixed the leak but still overheating, i just find it odd that i was using the stock clutch fan with a near dead clutch w/o a shroud and it wouldn't overheat on the road. and now with the electric it overheats on the road. i do find if i turn the heat on it will cool down to normal.

lots of isuzu guys are having troubles with elecric fans. Do they offer enough power increase to live with the troubles?

its not the power i'm looking for, just the submerine ability. one less thing on the serp can't hurt either. besides i'm a moron i problaby put it on upside down or something, i try and half ass things the first time and correct it the second time around.
