welll I used to have the same vehicle... till I totalled it.
But as far as lift..... there isnt much as far as *real* lifts out there.... most of the front lifts are just cranking the torsion bars some. Places to look would be:
www.calmini.com
www.independant4x.com
www.darlingtonoff-road.com (I think)
Theres a ton more too but I dont have the links anymore. Go here www.4x4wire.com and chat with the guys in the isuzu forum there. Thats the best place I've ever found for zu info.
One thing to consider is when you lift it above three inches aboue youll get a nice litle vib on your initial acceleration from the carrier bearing.... alot og people just get a one piece driveshaft to eliminate that. Stay away from the ball joint spacers some people offer....crap IMHO. Just save a few bucks and get the calmini upper A-Arms. Heavy duty torsion bars are something I'd suggest staying away from also... with the tbars cranked your ride is gonna be stiff already and the HD tbars will just make it worse. If youre gonna do the 3" thing all those companies have some good products but iof you want a REAL lift you should do a a SAS (solid axle swap). the front 44 out of a waggy with leafs works very nice on the zoos. Something to think about. but for sure check out 4x4wire.com .... good shit for the zoos over there

I'll agree with everything said except the part about the ball joint spacers. I ran spacers for quite a while with no problems, and know many others running them as well. in fact one of the guys on the wire actually measured up the calmini arms and all they do is relocate the joint to the same spot as the spacers. Its up to you, my only real advise is to stay away from calmini if you expect any kind of customer service.

I'll agree with Dallas on this one. I've been running some 1/2" spacers(discontinued DOR ones) for a few years now. They help get the alignment back in spec after the lift and keep the upper control arm off the bumpstop.

FWIW - I run, CALMINI A-arms AND ball joint spacer AND I have relocated the ball joint to the bottom of the upper a-arm. With this combination I actually have a bit too much down travel. I experience a bit of binding on the CV joint (at full droop) AND I am wearing out the lip of the inner cup. The wear is to the point that the retaining ring (clip?) has no groove left to fit into.
I should fix this problem by spacing up the down travel bump stop a bit. One of these days.

Rusty's hahahah that guy is a joke. I've heard nothing but trouble with him.
its realy easy to do small lifts (2" and less) to the older zuzus and should be roughly the same on the newer ones too. I just fabricated longer shackles (soon to put stock ones back in and do a spring over) and then just crank the tbars. To compensate for ride if you use it as a street machine just pull the sway-bars.
