i brought this up awhile ago about dual trannies and triple cases(203,203,205) but all of these options most of the time are pretty expensive. what kinda ideas have you guys come up with?

i was still kickin around the idea of a 203 reduction unit converted into a seperate reduction box with a yoke output and use a divorced 205 behind it. i was thinking also about using a 203-203 combo. 203's are cheap and they could be coupled up farily simple. seperate the reduction unit from one, have it shortened and splined to the same 23 spline as the input on the next 203. build a very short adapter, rotate it a little and you have 4:1 reduction for around $100-$200.

you guys have any ideas like using a 241 planetary unit or any other types of cases?

this setup is only $450 from staz works in the venders section. mates a 203 reduction to a T350 or T400 version 205.

a couple of winters ago i got cabin fever and did a 203 to dana 20.....here http://www.geocities.com/yj3qtr_ton/2transfercase.html are a couple pages of the build up..........

i'm pretty sure it cost me $100 to have Moser Eng. cut/repline the 203 low range box out put shaft for me........

my adaptor is different than most, i used parts of the original cases to make this 3 piece adapter...........

i think i had about another $100 in materials and some machinist work on the adaptors..........

i think it would work and be pretty straight forward to make an adapter to convert a 203 low range box to have a yoke adaptor output (and then use a divorce mounted 205), like your thinking....
