Gray... let's see...
IIRC, that makes it the first one I built, back in 1999. Not bad for a 'temporary outhouse' (USFS won't allow permanent structures).

Besides the warped wood, which can't be easily fixed, what's wrong? The tin is easy enough to tack back on...

The USFS answer is to have everyone pack it out. I suggest one of the toilets in the other sanitation thread. There will be a day very soon if you do not have one and use it, tickets will be issued.

All in all it is not a bad idea. Very practical for Spider Lake area.

So enjoy the broken crapper it's days are limited.

Randii i was just pointing it out, i know its not that bad, but i certainly didnt have nails with me or a staple gun to fix it. so if someone is going up soon to take those items if they have them, jiMMy

I do appreciate the heads-upo, Jimmy, no offense was received at this end. Hell, I'm tickled these cheapie, slapped-together shittahs have lasted as long as they have... I figured two years would be tops, especially with the weather conditions! :D

I'll fix them in August, but if someone wants to beat me to it, I'll buy the beer. There are rewards to being a POR, Plumber of the Rubicon. :rasta:

I was looking at the one at Ellis and some JACKASS had put a few bullet holes in it. Must have not known what it was like before these little guys when your wife was bitchin about needing to take a leak and there were 30 of us drunken pricks standing around.

FAWKIN JACKASSES!!!!!!

Well, folks, save the weekend of Aug. 16-17 for a rubicon work weekend. We hope to fix toilets, maybe build a new one or two, move some buildings (kiosk) and build the Little Sluice official bypass.

I'm curious about this too!
What/if anything is going to happen to the existing bypasses?? Is one of the current bypasses being "named" the "Official Little Sluice Bypass"?
What initiated the concept of the 'official bypass'?

I just posted an explanation of the Little Sluice bypass under Rubicon Trail Talk, stickied to the top:

Bypass Little Sluice (Official).

Thanks, Del

I was there yesterday and I can tell you that the picture above needs about 60 piles of crap and tp photochopped around it to show what it really looks like now.

What is it with folks who pile within 50 feet of an outhouse? I can see someone being too 'inspired' to make it a few hundred yards, but it really bugs me to step out the shitter and see piles within spitting (shitting?) distance... :(

I was at spider on Friday and yes, I'd say someone did do some minor repairs to some of the outhouses. But I must admit, I felt very uncomfortable sitting down in there looking though all the bullet and shotgut blasts in the plywood and steel siding.

A few years ago, I couldn't believe my eyes when I say that some idiots had used the Wentworth springs outhouses as targets for their paintball wars.

Of course the seat lids where the primary target leaving wet sticky paint all over them and impossible to use.

When the new outhouse is approved let me know, I'd be more than happy to assist in the build.
