Ok I replaced cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and timing chain. I still get what I think is spark knock when the gas is mashed for either passing or fast take offs. At normal constant speed and slow take off there does not seem to be any knock. What the hell am I missing that would be causing the knock. The engine is 5.8 with 100k its in a 90 bronco with auto tranny. please help cause my next step is taking it to the dealer to an ass raping

I dont think its the berings, and what would berings do to cause knocking. I could try higher octane fuel, but that (before the timing chain replacement) didnt seem to help either. At tis point I will try any thing no matter how dumb it may sound, so anything will help

a buddy of mine had a 92 f150 with a 5.0 and i noticed it had a knock like that only under labor..but being easy it didnt do it .then it started to get hard to start and come to find out it was a fuel pressure regulator that was on the intake ..somewhere he told me about it ..but i had a 400 in my 78 that would do that but that was because it was worn out..and it was lifter chatter... good luck

it sounds alot like your running too low of octane in your rig or your timing advance isnt working.

Definately check your fuel press. Have you tried changing the filter?

I did change the filter a few weeks ago and no change. How do I check the fuel pressure or should I just take it to the dealer and let them check it. I will change octane in next tank to at least 92. the other thing is about the timing advance, how do I check if the timing advance is working or what do I replace????

do you have a timing light or acess to one?
if so hook it up and raise the rpm's . you should see your timing go from 8-12* up to 18-30*(depends on motor. your haynes or chiltons should give applicable data.
