Olive Drab

I like the military colors. The Marine Green is slightly different, darker, than the Army green.

WTF?

Are we REALLY having a discussion on what color to paint a fawkin jeep?

Who the Fawk cares? The PBB has gotten alot softer these days, and I for one, am a little disappointed. No, I won't go anywhere else :flipoff2: , but come awn!!!

What part of 'Getting it' has anything to do with what fawking color your Jeep/Toy/Zuke/etc has to do with wheelin?

Oh, I know, I know. I'm sure one of the responses will be "Well, if you don't like the topic, you don't have to read it, or reply". To which I say. Normally I wouldn't, if I see a thread on a D30, I skip past it. But this is fawkin ridiculous.

I'm not sure, but I do know that both of those jeeps were restore to original Marine specs. So it must be the original or close to the original military spec. Sorry.

Question... Why do you need your gf approval on a color?

My b/f has a YJ. He asks me about things he wants to do with his. I give my opinion and whether he takes it or not i don't care. He doesn't need my approval though.
I like blue jeeps myself.

paint jobs has nothing to do with wheeling, but it is part of a project and i happen to be at this stage right now. I think you just dont realise that you and like... 20 others are the only one complaning on these type of topics... like "ITS NOT HARDC0R3!!!!!!! POS POS POS RAINBOW BLAH BLAH BLAH"

Ok sometimes some people are quick on asking question and pollute the board with stupid questions. I agree on that... but lets just be nice with everyone whatever their knowledge or whatever... the board will only get better and get the benefits from it. ;)

Well, mines been 3 different colors, and I think I might go for 4, if I decide to go camo with the jeep. Its orig color was a sahara mossy green, which I liked till I fubared it. Then I painted it flat tan, which I hated because my greasy paws got all over the paint and it looked nasty. Now its gloss black all done with OSH hardwarre brand spraypaint, some of the best spray can paint you can buy. If you are gonna wheel it, please DON'T get it professionally done.. you're just gonna screw it up anyway. It took me about 2 hours to spray my junk... But with PROPER prep, Id expect it to take 4.
As far as the color.. who fawkin cares... Its your jeep, not ours. And if you wheel it, its just gonna get scratched up, so carry an extra can of spraypaint like I do :flipoff2:

Personally I used Dupont Chronomaster, cost me around $260 for everything and $60 for my buddy to spray it. You can see the color in the post I have about an axle setup. My buddy who will have one of the fastest small block mopar's in the world next summer painted his car with an orange tractor/industurial enamel, cost him $20 bucks for the paint and it looks realy good, no show car but who cares when all you see is an orange blur, the finish is 75% in the prep work and 25% in the paint. What your using it for denotes how good of a spray job you should put on it. If I ran a full trail only rig it would def. be WWII spec o.d. green. The below pic (I have no idea how I acquired the pic or who it belongs to, so if it's yours or your buddy's Jeep let me know, want to get some specs off of it) was painted with a navy enamel paint, looks pretty good esp for a trail rig.

Surplus City Jeep carries spray cans and gallons...

this was the left overs from my 43 MB and 42 GPW on the XJ

I know how tough this question is. I want my fresh built rig to start out nice. Besides not everyone has the desire to rub and damage there rigs to the point of required buggy build. That has nothing to do with GETTIN IT. It seems to me every time I see Lances rig or many others even competeing they look nice. I like the flash of the oranges, and IMO cjs dont look right bright yellow, its a color that I feel requires alot of chrome to set it off.The blues look good.
