Need to know if this is possibly the T-Case Temp sensor? My t-case sensor light comes on for a diff lock light, suspect I can just move that to this sensor to get that sensor working properly. Then I need to add a light for the Diff-lock. How does the diff-lock sensor work? Does it close the loop when locked?

That's the diff lock light sensor. There is no temp sensor for the T-case. The temp sensor on your idiot light panel is for the automatic transmission
Your temp light for your auto is up around the cooler for the trans next to the radiator. Mine (88 model) is on the porcipine cooler where the lines enter the cooler.
Hope this helps.

The only problem I have with that statement is that when I lock the center differential the Temp light comes on, when I unlock the light goes off. I currently have nothing connected to the sensor shown in the picture.
I am pretty sure that my '90 had a temp light on the old Viscous Unit, thus the light that comes on.

Larry,
Your I think your right. I seem to remember a sensor is actually on the BW. Maybe I will even get out and look.

Yes, there is a temp sensor (PRC 7984) on te BW T-case. Forgot that you originally had a BW T-case. In the parts book under remarks it says "1990 MY". I suppose that means from 1990 on

That does look like the temp sender to me. I installed an LT230 from a Disco in my '89 RR and the temp sensor is on the left hand side of the case. The '89s have an un-used light in the panel which I used for the diff-lock. Made the connection at the bulb check ECU and yes the switch completes the "loop".

It it an LT-230 from a '98 Disco I if that helps. I was thinking about moving my current temp sensor light (Which is currently my difflock light) to this sensor and then completely rewiring/installing another light somewhere that will act as a diff light.
Anyone parting out an '87 or '88 Rangie with the big arse difflock light for sale?

I know where one is in houston. It could accidently fall in my tool box.
