ok here is the delima ,i have a guy interested in my jeep and i have one spotted for myself..so here are the specs.
87 yj on a cj frame,304 with problems,t176,d300,scout 44 open 3.54spung over i keep the soft top and trail doors.
the frame has som rust and there are a few small wiring problems.it has kumo 33mts and they suck.this was however my first atempt at being a doit yourselfer..some sentimetal
i told the guy $8500
.
.
.for $9000 i have spoted a 84cj same axles dut rear disk,nv4500,a clocked d 300 ,350tbi
low miles,lined tub,fresh paint sprung over on 2in cj springs,rs900 shocks,new 36in ssr,
all it realy needs is a cage and detroits maybe gearswhich my yj needs.
.
.
.i know it aint what you buy,but cash wise if i decide to do this and the deal goes
through i would only have about $6000in the cj which has every thing i want already there.

sorry so long any thought are apriciated thanks Roger

The first one is way overpriced, like send the men in the white coats after the owner. The second is one hell of a deal, go for it

A YJ on a CJ frame? Wow, I've met my Bizarro LOL. If he'll give you $8500 for it then by all means take it. The 84 sounds nice.

the yj is basicaly a mut79 and up but it looks good runs pretty good (a little smoke)
and it does good on the trails.so how high am i onthe pricei figured he would try to talkme down if it goes thar far but with the current cash roll i still have to be able to replace my rig.

From what you've listed, I'd say about half that tops if you're lucky. Where I grew up that's a $2k to $3k Jeep, but I don't know what the market is like around you. From what I see, there just isn't much there. Engine, tranny, and tires are all pretty much worthless. Stock Scout 44 is about $100 and D300 (best part of the listed driveline IMO) is about $200. YJ tub is $500 or so, say $1200 for complete tub (dash, windshield frame, seats) and front clip combined. Frame is $300 if it's cherry. Total all that and it's not even $2k yet and parting out usually brings more $$ than selling complete. Lots of little stuff that adds up though. Certainly not even close to $8500 though unless you aren't telling us something.
