well i finally got off my ass and started tinkering again.(actually, finally got a little break from the long hours at work.)
since i dumped the b2 body and put the excab on, i needed rear cab mounts. got em on. started hacking the body a little. was ready to drop the motor in til i relised i lost the oil filter relocation bracket in the move. may drop it in so i can get going on the tranny x-member though.
i re-affirmed my welding skills suck when i was narrowing the grill.(copying sittonhigh) so the rest of the bodywork may be rivets or sheetmetal screws with a little bondo glass over em.
still have to finish the bed and cut and patch the rear cab panels.
was going to extend the wheelbase up front, but i decided to wait til i can get in the welding class at the local JC.
so i went from this...http://shons99ranger.homestead.com/files/sale_pics_0001.jpg
to this.... http://shons99ranger.homestead.com/files/for_sale_0001.jpg

hope to get a little more done over the holidays. then it's back to 7 days a week til we get done with a tower project. and by then it will probably be raining. so next year????

Looks good, at least your making some progress. The only thing that I have worked on lately are my tow rig and my DD. Since I blew the motor in the DD the tow rig is now the DD, and thats even worse on my cash flow than the truck:eek:

i get overwhelmed. i have read so much tech stuff off the net when i get home. i have a thousand ideas of what i would like to do. but only 1 or 2 are feasible. 3 links , 4 links , buggy springs , goofy leafs , coilovers , coils and arms , ..... sometimes i'll have an hour of daylight and just go out and stare at it. guess i'm wishing for osmosis or something. but , it's fun and i enjoy what little i'm able to do. the learning curve has proven to be straight up more than not.
so right now i'm trying to tackle the big stuff. i still have to plumb new brakelines and figure out shocks.
but for now i want to finish the body work(as best as i can) and button up the drivetrain. still need to set-up(have set-up) the 4.10's in the 9"3rd . i set the gears up in the 44 my self.(pretty much just bolted em in. will check lash and all later)
need to finish shortening the bed.

then line up where i need to cut the rear of the cab.

well , i have a lincoln 125 plus mig. i suck at it. so the rest of the body work will probably be sheetmetal screws covered with bondo glass.
hopefully some pics at the end of the day.

dinked with the bed a little today. not perfect , but it's ruffed in enough for me to figure out where the mounts should be. still have to finish trimming.
