New guy here w/ a question.
The rear oil seal on my t-case has been leaking. How the hell do I get that little metal cover off of the spline shaft without destroying it? Will a three-prong puller do it?
Then, how do I get it back on? I'm thinking I'm going to beat it back on with a pipe. Will this work?????
Thanx

I just pulled the housing off, its only 3 bolts. I then used a piece of PVC I lad lying around to tap the seal off from the back side. Another piece of PVC was used to lightly tap the new seal in place.
I wasn't having any luck doing it while under my Jeep. Getting a punch in between the housing and the seal proved a bit tricky and I was worried about marring the seal surface. All told I think it only took like 10 minutes.

I thought about that, but I was worried about shit falling out of the t-case that I wouldn't know how to get back in
Guess I'm gonna be under there again tonight.
Is RTV good enough to put the rear housing back on with, or will I need a gasket?

Nothing is going to fall out, it just covers the output shaft and seals up the slip yoke.
RTV will work just fine. Be sure to clean it well.
