I took the liberty of grabbing your diagram.
First, where is the skidplate or a crossmember that you would be bolting the shackle too? (It wouldn't be above the output of the t-case would it?)

If the red dots are the bushings on the axle, I would think that you would want one above the axle, one below. (Like my pic)
I don't think that the angle of the shackle is really that important, obviously you wouldn't want it at 180*, but close to 90* would be good enough. I don't think that there would "ever" be a time that the top of the shackle would be pushed beyond 90* towards the front, maybe a little, but not much.
I probably just cornfused the issue, didn't I?

I am so stealin that buggy leaf setup :D has it been tested yet at all...looks great man! And I think Utah YJ is more on track for ya ;) But i am by no means a traction bar expert (considering I still havent done mine :rolleyes: )

Go for it keith, its super easy to do :)
Couple energy suspension bushings, a piece of 5/16" channel and the custom leafs.
Ill have an article about the 3/4 soon in alloffroad... not tested yet, we just bolted the body back on
