We are going to get a Ford 9" for the 52 Ford truck we are building, we already have a Ford 9" that is 60" wide, I thought this was a little weird so we measured it a couple times and it is indeed 60". So Im now looking for a 9" that is 61" or 63" and I was wondering what vehicle and what year came with disk brakes? Do Broncos have disk brakes in the back??
Thanks

no the broncos won't work besides they are the wrong bolt pattern to match your mustang front end, Get one from a Lincoln. The versalies is the narrowest disc brake one it is at right about 61 inches I think. The Mark series have the same disc brakes and are a couple inches wider than that, and much easier to find.

I know exactly where a 9" from a lincoln continental with discs are here in San Jose, CA. The yards cost would be $150+ tax. I think thats right on the width but not for sure. If you're serious, I'd be happy to arrange something. Let me know ASAP so I can pull it.
Actually a better option would be to just get the bracket and calipers. You could bolt them onto most 9". I'm not totally sure on the cost. Probably $70 total from the junkyard.

if fullwidth wants that axle, I could transport it back down after new years, as I will have my EB out in CA on the trailer for christmas break, and could throw the axle on with it.

I have to know soon becuase this place rotates cars often, like everyweek or other week.
I just found another. I don't know if I lucky or if they're really that plenty full.
I tried pulling the brackets today but they have to be pressed off the axle shaft. Actually theres a retainer that has to be pressed off. These are 28 spline axles. No not the strongest of the 9" but usually plenty strong enough.
If you want the axle, please send $100 as a deposit. My phone # is 408-685-6726. If anyone else wants one theres another one in the yard.
Also, I've had one of these axles in another street truck, and I'll tell you what, these rear discs make a WORLD of a difference in stopping. Think of it like this, would you rather pay the extra $100 or so to get a disc brake axle, or the $$couple$$ of grand from plowing you 4500 lbs rig into the back of a Japanese SUV because they slammed on their anti-lock brakes.

sounds good but I already have the factory stuff so I'm going to run with that.
