Anybody else having problems with kazaa? Almost every song I try to download is playing for about 30 seconds, and then turning to static sound. This has been happening for about a week now.

I've heard that record companies are putting fake songs like that up on kazaa. The songs will be incomplete, have messages in them, or will be static. It's just another way for them to try to keep people from downloading songs.

Anybody know how to tell without downloading first? Dial up sucks, but that's all I can get at the moment.

switch over to shareaza or take your luck with the kazaa downloads.

I was just downloading music last night and it's working fine... Do you have enough room on your hard drive ??? Could be your out of space... Or, since you say you are using dial up.. are you timing out ?

keep an eye on the "integrity" rating of the file. sometimes that is a good indicator.

if you look under the bandwidth the higher the number the better I usually see around 700 there. and under the user thing the more users the better... both will make your dl go faster.

Holy Spyware Batman!

I would not put any of those programs on my computer.

Get DC++, get on a hub, and you're good to go.

This is great and sounds really cool! One day I'll probably even know what the hell it is:eek:

Little help for the computer challenged?:emb4:

I would not put any of those programs on my computer.Because, of course, Kazaa has never been bundled with spyware. :emb: Those are comparable services to Kazaa, not the perfect solution.

Computer-savvy people can be such jackasses.

Kazaa does have a file built in that goes out on the web and pulls off ads and what not that is commonly confused as spyware... (also a major cause of pop-ups) I got rid of it and switched to kazaalite and that got rid of pop ups.

Umm...
WinMX has no spyware (or anything that can be confused with it)
Not sure on the others.

Make note of the filesize and/or bitrate of the bad file and find one thats different.
(example: If the 6,573,781 byte file has pops or static,
try DL'ing the 6,574,289 one next to it.
All the 6,573,781 byte files are the same regardless of the fact different users have it.

BTW, make sure such files don't stay or end up in your shared folder.
