yeah i know it is kind of boring up there, but I am going up there for a fishing tournament. So I can just run down there in the afternoon and have some fun for a little while.

That place is awesome! I just got back from there.

You're about a week too late, a few folks from our association were camping there last week and could have shown you around a bit, or had a couple :beer:

My club used to make annual trips to the Dunes, since it's about the only legal thing you can do with a 4x4 on public lands in Michigan, but as our rigs progressed from full-size trucks with big-blocks to trail Jeeps with lower gearing, the Dunes just just weren't worth the 5 hour drive.

Still fun for a weekend if you're in the area anyway, and there's nothing like getting kicked off every go-cart track in town and shaking sand out of your shorts to put a smile on your face.
