Mike's on the camera...and, no, don't blame his photography skills, my arms are really that red

So, just load this space full of 12-15 buxom blonde cheerleaders and let's hit a kegger...Mike said he'd join but it has been a while since he last wore his "Fightin' Ute's" cheerleader outfit...

So in case anybody is wondering...

Why? Because I can :flipoff2:
Actually, because my A/C is far from working and the green roof is a nice heat-sink in the LV sun. Plus a green roof on a white RRC sitting on blocks looks more white-trash!

I think it has a retro-Series hint to it...I like it. I need to spend a few more days tinkering with the d@mn headliner and getting it to fit right...

Mike, thanks for the help as always...I can't ever thank you enough for putting down the phone to come criticize me :D The foam and RVT worked out great...the roof is so much quieter than before!

BTW, I'm not in too much trouble. I think she is becoming more aware of my forgetfulness...which means I have to use a day planner :rainbow:

for those outside the know, I completely forgot our Monday Bible-study series on MARRIAGE...won't be makin' babies for a few days...:(

A roofrack with a white floor in it would do even more wonders for the heat......

Did you have to cut any welds or does the top just unbolt?

Hmmmmm,

You ever think about just making it into a soft top...you know, with a couple of cross bars over the middle-kind of Defenderesque???
I've been thinking about doing that on occasion just to get rid of the damn headliner problems, but mine has the moon-roof, so theres more electrics invloved.
I wonder if anyone out there has actually done that, just taken the roof off and made it into a soft top....Wonder what that would look like.....????

If you are looking for a roof rack, Slade probably still has the old one from the falcon laying arround somewhere (pdx). Id ask him. The other option is to make a 'tropical roof' using the green roof (no sunroof) on top of the white one with little spacers to seperate the two.

Yeah, I thought about it. Kind of along the same lines as the convertible thread, a HD canvas top that could be removed. Though $$$ is the issue...

After seeing Mike's cook-trailer, a canvas top woulda been saaaweeeet!!!!

Yup...it's in the backyard behind the MFalcon...not really looking but it's on my wish list. Mike was talking about hacking it up to fit the CC, however...we'll see what happens.

As far as the tropical roof goes, rumor has it Mike sold it before it was even off my rig

I have actually thought about this one before. A buddy of mine replaced his black fiberglass roof with a metal white topped one. He said it was much much cooler. Also noticed that in Moab in the middle of the summer that the darker vehicles were the hottest. My truck actually keeps pretty cool even though it is the dark red. It would probably be perfect with a white roof... Hmmm, that would be cool. Plus while the roof was off you could but one hell of a roll cage in the truck.

how's this idea?
what about building a track on the front (like jeeps) w/ the plastic deal you roll under in the track. for the sides use track like you use to hold the awning on the side of an RV (the ones w/ ropes sewn in). You could slide in the top from the back bring it up over the winshield, clip it in up there, pull it back tight and use snaps for the arse end and then tighten the middle w/ bows to keep the flutter down. And if you had a cage you could make a 1/2 top and anchor it to the cross bar ala bikini top style.

May have to re-wire the dome lights :flipoff2:

I have a white roof with a glass sunroof sunroof for sale, since DieLucas is such a trendsetter, I thought I would give others the opportunity to emulate his sense of style.

I bet shipping on that would be cheap:flipoff2:

If I replaced my roof I would want a sunroof-less one as I need more headroom.

Hey you now have two good reasons to head west....Pick up a white roof, and then run the Rubicon in style.

Oh, you don't want a sunroof, well Serious one has a green one for sale.

I know a guy who did that. It looks fine. After all it is the roof and most people can't see up there anyway.

well LWG...if you're serious about having a sunroof-less roof, then your options are kind of limited.

Pre-87's and then the '91 hunters. I think all other models of RR's we're likely to see in the US had sunroofs.

I have the green one from DieLucas...the sale that started yesterday hasn't been consumated yet, so you still have time! :flipoff2:

While Im at it (selling useless rover junk) I have 3 harmonic dampers (the big heavy weight behind the front axle) for sale. They make great gifts!

I've got a 76 with a black vinyl roof (and sunroofless)that is soon to be thrashed trashed and bashed, the body on this thing is more rust than anything, but the roof appears decent, the chassis/drive train are slated for a future project. But since it's a 2 door it's probably useless anyway.

Are all pre-95 Rangie SWB roof the exact same dimensions? Will an '87 sunroof-less roof fit on my '90?

That would eliminate even more electrics that can go out and even shave about 20 or so lbs off the truck....

Yup.

Slade's '90 bolted right onto my '83 and vice-versa...though I did not entirely bolt it back on the '90...only a few screws were used to keep the wind from taking it away :D, but everything is in the right place.
