Wait a minute, you are using 'hotrod' and 'unimog' is the same sentence. SOmething is not right here.

i have been selling re-ground performance cams for Isuzu motors from Delta Cam in WA for a while now (couple years) w/ very good quality.

you can call them at 800-526-5500 and see if they can help you out.

you will at the minimum need the core for them to start with.

you can also look at their process at :

http://www.deltacam.com/camshaft%20grinding.htm

other than that....................can't help ya :D

You can also try Colt Cams (http://coltcams.com) . They do alot of oddball one-off cams. They did a sweet ultra-torquey cam for my Zu, and being Canadian, are probably a bit cheaper considering our shitty dollar:rolleyes:

Try these guys:

CAM GRINDERS INCORPORATED
3433 16TH AVE W, SEATTLE, WA 98119
(206) 285-0164

They are some of the best machinists I have ever worked with. While I do not have a cam from them, they did my recent block work and some machining on some other parts. Flawless.

They do a good bit of big boat work, so the Unimog may not even phase them. Nothing like seeing 6-8ft cams leaned up in the corner of the shop. :D

Delta is a good company with good intentions, but their quality is lacking. I had a head guy take one look at my Delta cam and he knew where it came from. There is chatter on the ramps. While this does not seem to be an issue, as it is not tearing anything up, it does lend a view into the overall quality of their work.

As far as Isuzu cams go, Delta is fast and cheap and they work well. I like the cam I have in my rig. But, personally I would work with someone like Cam Grinders, if I had to go about it again.
