what are you guys doing to seal the spindle or are you running the hub bearings in gear oil and not grease. i am trying to figure it out and by the looks of it the warn spindle has a seal that goes into the back of the spindle that the shaft runs through.
any ideas?????

I installed the Warn FF kit on my 12 bolt. The first time I set it up without the oil seals. Within two runs gear oil leaked out all over; first one side then the other. The second time I installed the oil seals and greased the living crap out of the bearings. Been perfect ever since.
I trailer my rig and I know the axle housing is pretty straight, or else I might have tried to address the leaks. Personally, I think oiling the bearings is a better design, but it sure can be a PITA.

You run the bearings in gear oil not grease. You might want to use a small amout of grease when putting them together the first time but they will use the gear oil from then on.

that is what i was thinking but wouldn't oil eventually leak out of the hub back into the housing which would cause the bearings to run dry?

The Warn kit offers both lubrication stratigies; oil or grease, depending on usage.
Don't know what's right or wrong, just know what works w/ a Warn FF12 bolt kit.
try and look at an OEM full float dif
all use the gear oil to lube wheel bearings
gravity has the oil stay in the hub

I've been addressing this situation for a couple of years now, the best solution I've found is to run the internal seals and grease the bearings, because no matter how you look at it the locking hub or slug cover will leak... I went round and round with Warn and they kept giving me crossoer #'s for new seals...They are all different that the original CR seal dimansions, so I would suggest using only CR brand seals unless you like doing it every couple of months....
PS - I have the 35spline FF 9" kit, it was one of the first 2 off the line and I got to be the guinea pig for several seal, drive flange, cap, o-ring configuration tests...
