Nvermind I got it.. my problem was I didnt have a small flathead and I was hoping there was a way to do it without one but I rummaged in the garage and found one. Just popped it out easy.. so if anyone else is wondering, just go find a small flat head and wedge it in between the c-clip an dthe ridge and then pop it with a hammer.

I got the c-clip on the outside as well as the c-clip that was on the shaft itself... it looks like the reason that next outside pice where the alen bolts thread in wont come out is because there is another piece around the shaft itself behind that c-clip that is stuck. Should I just run to the store and get some wd-40?

Ok I made some progress.. by hammering on the stub shaft and pulling on the alen bolts simultaneously I got the thing in the middle around the shaft to poke out a little, I was the able to wiggle it out with vice grips. But not the lockout is still not coming out.

K I was able to slowly pry it out with a flathead.. holy shit there is a lot of mud in there and two little metal cylinder things fell out, not sure what those are, anyway my hub nut wrench thing is not the right one, so im done for the day :(

Well that is definately the problem. Mud of course should not be in there and it is gonna make everything stick together. I can't for the life of me think what the 2 metal cylinder things you speak of are.

Also, it sounds like your hubs where sticking because you say that when you were messing with the lockout that the middle piece around the stub popped out. In other words, your hubs were not unlocking. That should have already been pooped out, sounds like that mud is gumming stuff up badly. It is probably a good idea to take both your hubs apart and completely clean and repack them. The mud is most likely the reason your bearings are toast too. Not only will the cleaning help in the preservation of your wheel bearings, but it will also aid in disassembly on the trail. It won't be such a PITA. Also, if you hub were indead stuck in the locked position, it might be a good idea to go ahead and pull your spindle to check out your spindle bearings while you have everything apart....

Thanks a lot for your help dude... I got the right size wrench today as well as a pair of spindle bearings so im gonna replace both sets of bearings and clean everything and put some grease in the hubs and MOST OF ALL STAY OUT OF THE MUD when I go to hollister in two weeks :)
