ok so I was planning on getting a cj-10 body tub for my project, and it may still happen if i can find a good deal on one, but the one i was hopin for got sold. so I already have the frame built and most of the susupension done. I was figuring on some sort of flatbed cj-10 buggy type rig. now if i can't track down another cj-10 tub what would you recomend?

this is what I want
a small cab that I can put on the frame
convertable for summer
and different

I thought about a willy's pickup, but not sure how much of a pain the convertable part would be.

or is it time to just build my own body.

problem is I want to be able to drive the damn thing on the road.

I've thought about the fj-45 but I want something a bit different and stange.

toyota truck, been done

samurai might just be too small

would a chopped sidekick turned into a truck cab be too ugly?

land rover, nah

I thought the 10 would be all that and still a jeep, but not a regular cj

any input?
or anyone know where to find another cj-10 tub relatively cheep?

I 've got a Scout tub, fenders, top, the whole shot'n match, you can have for next to nothing. I'm in CA, so I can't ship it.

a cj-10 is a cj-7 that stop behind the drivers seat

sorry but the scout wont do
it's gotta work as a truck cab

I had the cj-7 tub and sold it to buy the cj-10

patrol also made a pickup, its just like toyota did with the FJ45. looks like a patrol front and cab but with a tray type bed. i was thinking of going this route myself for a pickup, i know where a couple are.

Model T's had convertible tops, :D and if you couldn't find a steel one I'm sure you could find a fiberglass one.

I don't see why not, they even make a half cab for them, just chopit behind the door and move the back up. Definatly would be differant! and probably the most room of all your choices, and the convertable top would be the easies of your choices too :p

How about a Gladiator cab like the old military five quarters. Convertable, heavy duty and with a flatbed it would be realy unusual.

well if yah ever check out some of the sport truck magazines, i know, i know lowered trucks suck, i dont buy them but have seen them, they make removable tops for pickups. mostly mid sized like rangers, s10s, toyotas, and mazdas and shit. they basically chop the roof and back window area off and yah then have a soft top that goes on there. mid sized truck cabs are cheap and plentifull and theres lots to choose from. not sure how much the tops are.
