The Nissan Motors general manager spoke with the RD group about comming out with a new sports car to appeal to the American Market. They asked when they wanted the project completed by.... The answer suprised them so the project director exclaimed...............
........... Dat... soooooon.........

Thus the 240Z was born.... a scraped project of Mercedies...

ohhhhh.... hmmm HELLLLLL YEAHHHHHH Im a Nissan/Datsun fan..... well.... of the ones worth it... like, some of the Z's, Roadsters - SRL and SPL 311's (I owned several in my life thus far,) 510's... (had them too), PL520&21's.. (one for Pop, one for me)

The Patrol has really come along nicely. Do you still have the six cylinder in it? I have heard, but can't confirm, that Nissan copied the GM six cylinder of old and that many of the parts are interchangeable. Again, I can't confirm this, but we will be selling the six out of ours soon so that we can put a more user friendly V8 in.

Sweet rig!!! A good friend of mine has two mint ones sitting in his back yard, makes me want to offer up some money for one!!!

If only they didn't look so much like a "Rover" (brings back bad memories of my '71 SIIA...), but hey anything is better than a British vehicle...:p

Keep the pics coming!
Cheers!

That wouldn't suprise me.. Nissan baught... stole. or something many pattens world wide as they retooled from the Jap American war. Like the "Solex" Mikuni Carberator... Solex is German.. they even kept the name.. and many of the Solex German parts where direct replacements. Mine used (stock race prep) PH44 Mikuni Solex. (side drafts) Guess. what..... Same part number even for the german solex of the same bore etc.

Where was the 302 tightest to fit, front to rear, or around those damn footwells? I won't be able to post a picture of mine till sometime in December when the digital camera, patrol and I are in the same place.
