: ROVER AMBULANCE MOVING TRAGEDY (kinda bloody)
Puffdragon 07-11-2003, 02:02 PM Well, since I really only know the rover guys on the board, I thought I would sneek this in here. Well, while moving getting ready for the big Move back to albuquerque, I had a small accident. I was moving a big ass peice of half inch glass, when it hit something, and broke. Well, as i jumped out of the way, a large section caught my leg. It tore open my left leg, just above the ankle. So, the rover content is that I was picked up and carried to my Dad's Rangie 4.6 HSE, and driven like a bat outa hell to the hospital, where I recived 6 inner stiches, and 15 outter. Anyway, here is a pic of the leg, and if any of you want to see the wanabee rover ambulance, you clicked on the wrong post.
Puffdragon 07-11-2003, 02:03 PM pics are compliments of a camera phone. Great thing to have around. Pics were instantly sent to all my family memebers
marty 07-11-2003, 02:21 PM Nice picture ????

Marty
JSBriggs 07-11-2003, 02:22 PM What a waste of bandwidth....I was at least expecting booty fab stiches (duct tape). I think you have gone soft on us but actually seeking PROFESIONAL medical attention. Thats just as bad as going to the dealership for an oil change.:flipoff2:

Hope the leg gets better.........gimpy
Simon 07-11-2003, 02:30 PM What a wussy. Why didn't you drive yourself to the hospital? When I nearly severed a couple of fingers on my left hand with a tree shearing knife in high school, I wrapped it in my own dirty T shirt and drove myself 20 some miles to the hospital in a stick shift Chevette. The blood wiped off the vinyl seats quite easily.
Doesn't it smart when they scrub out the wound with betadine?
:flipoff2:

PTSchram 07-11-2003, 03:14 PM Glad you're OK. Any permanent damage?
You know, thinking about pics of you working, I'm surprised you got hurt moving and not working in shorts and sandals:flipoff2:
WBDISCO 07-11-2003, 03:27 PM
Dang, that is narsty. I thought i had it bad. I was moving a piece of aluminum sheet yesterday and took a chunk out of my knee (i of course used a gause and duct tape:flipoff2: ) but no stiches. Here's for a speedy recovery:beer:

Puffdragon 07-11-2003, 04:16 PM Well, for a little extra comentary to the pic. That cut extended down below what you see about 1" inside the leg, and just knicked the muscle membrane. The clumps of yellow in the middle of the pic, are my Fat cells that were oozing out. The cut is around 4" accross, and almost 2" deep. I could have walked to the hospital, minus the lack of blood I would have had after about a minute or two. Anyway, it feels just fine now, as long as I take a pain killer, but it will be just fine, No major long term problems, X rays showed no glass inside, and I will have a nasty scar to lie about to freinds and girl freinds.

Friends: Yea, I had it at 5 grand and dropped the clutch.....it fragmented and I almost lost my foot.
Girl Friends: We were water skiing and my buddy's 3yr old fell out over the back of the boat, so I naturally, not thinking of my own personal saftey, I went after him, and the prop got me.....saved him though.

Simon 07-11-2003, 06:08 PM Dude, didn't mean to come off as a prick - hope it heals up well for you. Handling big chunks of glass can be ugly.
Keep it clean and dry.
