Hell yeah, tidy boxes are a plus in my book. I like to dirty em up a bit before I clean house though. BTW you are how old? Let me see some pics (as I think to myself... how many times has she been hit on on the BB?). Hell it's worth a try.

I really don't have issue posting in the tech forums, but most of my questions would be newbie questions and I know I can get them answered here quicker! ;) But they really are questions that Mike knows the answer to because he's got such an intimate relationship with my Jeep! :laughing: :roxy:

I think it's about time to chop the willys, 3/4 ton drivetrain....BB chevy heart, or maybe a ford 360.....ahhhh, dreams.


yeah, she finally found a t-case for me to drop in. I HATE to see her drop the $ into it when it would be better to get a 23 spline and an AX-15 for 30 bucks more......

Dont waste you time with a 360... Find a 427FE and bolt up a 435 with 205..... Lets see her rip then!!:eek:

I hope you meant Ford 460, the 360 is a turd. The only thing good about it is you can put a 390 crank in it and you have an instant high compression 390.

Maybe someday, but I think I'd just start over with a different Jeep. I don't really want to hack my Willys up.

Yeah I think if it were me I'd find some gears for the front axle first. I guess it doesn't make that much difference, she won't have 4WD again until she does both.

I mean, the guy is asking $100 for a 231 with 21 splines (4 cyl or off a peuget.)

I'd rather pull an ax-15 and a matching 231 for only 20 bucks more than that and get her set up right.

Doesn't she have an AX-15 offered to her for free? I think I'd find a 23 spline 231 that will bolt to it. If she finds some front gears before she gets that tranny, she can always use the 21 spline input shaft she already has and make it work. Later when she gets the tranny, she has everything she needs transfer case wise to install it (though it will require some parts swapping).

Since she won't have 4WD again until she fixes both the transfer case and re-gears the front axle, I don't see any point in doing either one until she can do both.

You must have missed the tranny thread! :laughing: Lets just say its gone and I need to find another for cheap or make do with what I have until it breaks. I'd just like to have 4WD again so I could maybe use it this summer :D
