did a little mild biking yesterday and ended up with two flats! need to replace my tubes. The tires are 26x2.25"
All the places open on Sunday (non-bike stores) only had 26x2.125"
I know its only 1/8" but I didnt get them. Should I hold out for 2.25" tubes? And why cant I find them at a normal sporting good store!?
oh yeah, tires are geax blade 225's
oh yeah, gotta be a presta

Drill out your rims so you can go to Target or any big super market :D
And dont worry about 1/8" ... they expand when inflated.
You did make sure that the thorn or what ever isnt still sticking through the tire, right?

I use 1.95's with 2.7" tires. Don't worry, you'll be ok :D Hey, nothin beats Longs Drug 2 dollar tubes :D

you know, I do a lot of flyfishing, and we have always run larger tubes in out float tubes than recomended. the idea was that thw rubber would be stretched less and would provide greater puncture resistance
I have kept that theory with biking and never had probs with flats on the trail. Of course I prolly just fawked myself.

As a previous Bike shop mechanic, i can tell you that even the 1.75" tubes will work fine.....but dont try the 1.50" ones... :D

Get intense dh butyl tubes. They're expensive but they work great. $10 and I've never gotten a flat with them and run 10-15psi in intense 2.5 and 2.7" 909 tires with the fro casing.

Well, my Karp is the only bike I have, so weight matters a bit to me I suppose. It only weighs 43 pounds at the moment, but I'm probably going to add the intense tubes if I head up to the lifts.
