My main interest is in the 4x4 market. I was able to see a built 700 last weekend. It was the owner of www.highlifter.com 's brand new 700. After 2 rides, he had already over heated it and slipped the belt AND broke one front cv joint without being hard on it. Then again, it is an awesome quad as far as the power/transmission/size/versatility/traction/ride go. The other colors will be out by early January. The 650 Prairie is way lighter, has great power as well, with a sealed brake system that is said to last the life of the bike. The 650's 4wd system has more flexibility as far as 4x4 and 3x4 go. The 650 is also a considerably shorter bike. By the way, if you want pics of both built, go to Highlifter...... The 650 link is on the main page. The 700 link is on the Highlifter Quads section. The current best hunting bikes are probably the Sportsman HO camo editions. The 450 S/ES, Rubicon, Big Bear, Grizzly 660, Kodiak, Sportsman, and Diesel are other good bikes for what you want to do.

I have a polaris 500 Scrambler and it gives you the best of both worlds. Can tow a good amount, has a crapload of power, capable of 55-60mph, is awsome on the rubicon, and can handle the trails. It is by no means a duning machine or fast trail quad but it does everything i need. Put it in 4wd and point it and go.

I also have a polaris 400 2 stroke scrambler 4x4 which goes pretty good, but 2 strokes die when you attempt the rubicon or a snow run--the belts overheat and you can melt the side cover.

The bigger ATVs out there now are just getting too heavy. i think that new polaris 700 weighs like 800lbs +. However, it did win the latest comp against all the other mfg's big atv's.
