I've got a beaten to death crew cab and I would like to replace the big old bench seat.
What years can I grab buckets from?
Do the buckets from a newer Chev bolt in or am I going to be fabbing up brackets?
Just my tow rig so I'm looking to do as little as possible. :flipoff2:

Ricer seats are really going to need brackets to raise them up high enough to see over the dash.

ricer seats are made by small three fingered children in taiwan, japan, etc, in areas controlled by big corporations, who, after all the profit they make, pay these worn-out children $2 a week to make those seats. if you got a chevy, buy chevy seats. at least the older ones were made by americans =) as far as which ones, i'd stick to the same year models if you're looking a straight bolt-in. i haven't heard of any buckets bolting in where a bench seat was ... i may just not be well-versed in such matters, but, IMO, but another bench seat... see if you can find someone w/ a redneck junkyard (buncha trucks in the backyard/mudhole/field of weeds that'll charge you 20 bucks to go out there and pick your parts... good places to go... i got 3 buckets for the blazer for like 30 bucks =)

If it is a 73-87 half or 3/4 ton (-91) 1 ton then the seat out of any of those years will fit directly. Same thing goes for 88-98 if you fall into either of those ranges pull a seat from the same range and it will bolt right in. The seat for my 83 came out of a 73 but before it was in the 73 it was in a 90 1 ton. GET IT?:D

What about Suburban's?
Buckets are pretty rare aren't they in the 73 - 87 trucks?

burbans of that era had bench seats in front. the chevy hi-backs i have in my blazer have 8 mounting holes that bolt straight down into the floor. don't your bench seats have the front bolts facing at an angle? if so, you won't find any (i think) direct bolt-in buckets. if you've got your heart set on buckets, you make need to fab something.
