I just got my new trailer, and it has motorhome axles under it./ I heard they are not great, but the guy that had it before me fixed the brake issues. Are there any other things I should be wary about?
Thanks

Look through Bill's tech articles. Search through here too. We've talked about it. :D
Congrats on the trailer.

You'll get more hits if you search for mobile home axles, rather than motorhome.

Never had any problem with mine. I just check the wheel mounting bolts now and then, but just for peace of mind, never have come loose. It's for sale now. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&category=10368&item=2423353736)

I didn't have mine for long, but never had any problems with them, including when I had a 11,000lb load on them.
Should be noted though, mobile home axles are technically only legal for the one trip of the average mobile homes life. Not for use under a standard trailer.

well if it is truely motorhome axles then they would be automotive type axles (prolly a Dana of some type) and I am sure he doesn;t need help with those types of axles...

Really... Lets see a picture of theses so called motorhome axles. Most of the motorhomes I've seen have a Dana 60, 70 or Corporate 14 bolt under them.

hmm they could be the tag axle from under a motorhome but I am leaning towards mobile home axles under his trailer myself
best way to tell if they have the daton style wheel mount or large 5 spoke hub and the rims and tires are of the 14.5 size
