: Equal in Radial Swampers?

When I first got my bias ply TSL's, I tried the Equal. Needles to say, it didn't even come close to working.

Will it be more effective now that I'm running a radial Swamper? I have about $75 worth of the stuff and would like to put it to use if I can. Anyone had any success with it in Swampers?

Use BBs or golf balls. A search in Gen4x4 will give you a ton of input.

Ditto the golf balls. I had some radial MT's that took 8-12 oz of weight each, kept throwing them, just put golf balls in them and that worked good enough.

Each golf ball is 1.8oz. Range rocks may weigh a bit more.:p

Thanks guys. I just got back with my truck and they echoed the Nay's on the Equal, so I went w/ lead for the time being.

I appreciate all of the input.

Oh, I forgot to say that the SSR's compared to the TSL's are like putting on a new pair of running shoes after doing a marathon in flip-flops. Man what a difference!:D

I still cant beleive you put up withth TSl's on the street. The worst is in the winter. Ill put mine on to go play in the snow, and they take FOREVER to warm up and turn round again. The summer isn't so bad, but they are still very noisy.

Did you try them without balancing first? The reason I ask, I just put on 35 x 12.50 SSR's and I'm running them without any lead or other balancing device. I've been on several trips and had them up to 70 MPH without any issues.

I had the TSL bias on for 6 months before I switched to the radials and I couldn't agree with you more, never had them balanced either.

Marty, the balancing came at no cost with the hazard warranty, so I let them do it. So far, so good. No vibes or wobble-Yet! :)

Its advised to run a couple of days without any balancing whatsoever so that the tire and rim can "mate" well. This is especially true with 35+ tires. That said, I won't be balancing my SXs when they arrive.:D

Hey Greg,

I too tried 6oz of equal in my bias TSL's...and it sucks LOL....we also just tried it with a set of 235/85/16 Radial TrXus....no Joy...Lead was the answer.
Smooth as a baby's butt.

What Size are you running?

The TSL's were 9x34"s, but I went with the 35x10.50x16 SSR's. Oh what a feeling! Ride is great now (comparitively speaking, of course).;)

you guys every heard of or tried Centramatic Wheel Balancers? I've heard good things, but was looking for some first hand experience with them.

Heard of 'em, know people who run 'em and love 'em.. But they're not made for rover bolt pattern.
