Court... dismissed with Prejudice

Well my ex figured I would be heading up to BHCC about now, so her atty filed against me as she is trying to modify out divorce decree.

The Judge agreed with my atty in dismissing it as it did NOT meet Texas State Law! Basically the figured I would be out of town, and I would settle it out of court. Idiots!!! Sheesh.

Everything remains the same, but just spent $1500 in legal fees for that ruling. Oh, neither the ex, nor her atty showed this morning... as he fax'd my atty at 7:00 pm last night to say he was dropping the suit.

Ya... that was my BHCC & Oshkosh money. :mad3:

Hopefully next week I'll sell my old house (keeping my fingers crossed). About $5K to sell it.... whew.

Good part... still have the cruiser after all this. (whew, hanging on by the skin of my teeth, but still hanging on!)

Great suggestion “Cruiser Therapy” We all need it every now and then.

Legal term: "DISMISSAL WITH PREJUDICE - When a case is dismissed for good reason and the plaintiff is barred from bringing an action on the same claim. "

Basically the court told my ex to "stuff it"... yes, I have an excellent family law atty, worth her weight in gold. :D Funny part, my SO dressed the part of the proffesional this morning. Baliff thought she was my atty!

Bummer part is just that I had to spend $$$ to defend myself. She had really hoped I would be on the road, and couldn't care less. Wrong. Last year she decided I "cheated her" out of my stock option (she got 1/2 per the decree). Uh, option price was at $25.00/share.... stock was trading at $8/share... basically you would LOOSE money to buy the stock... but tried to explain to the judge I somehow tricked the stockmarket into cheating her out of her money. :shaking: Uh, if I could do that.... I think you would find 100's of land cruisers at my own private off road park! :D

Just too much drama... personally I'd rather be putting the $$$ towards their college funds, not paying legal fees! :(

What do you call Skydiving lawyers?

Skeet!

Hope everything goes well with the sale of the house.
This just confirms why I have not gotten married. I like my toys and no one is taking them away!

I like to think of it as deprogramming, I hopped in the 40 about 10:00 last night just so I could drive her around and not THINK about anything else ;)
