: Anyone look at JP mag?
LC Hamma 11-29-2001, 03:02 PM Okay, before anyone :nuke: 's me. I said LOOK at the mag.
NOT purchase the mag or convert to being a Jxxper.:vader2: But, when I see on the cover a hybrid (they call it a Jxxp, but we all
know that's only the body) w/2 1/2 ton Avalanche Titan axles,
man I just gotta check it out! I just hope none of my cruiser
buddies want to preform an exorcism on me at the next
cruiser meeting :trooper:
wngrog 11-29-2001, 04:40 PM There was a thread about that thing in General 4x4. I think Jess made the drivelines.
Killer rig!!
60seriesguy 11-29-2001, 07:22 PM I subscribe to JP magazine, and I'm not ashamed of it. I am as diehard Cruiserhead as they come, but I am interested in 4x4 magazines and writing for them (not a whole lot of luck yet, despite numerous submissions), so I like to check out all of them, and subscribing is cheaper than buying three issues throughout the year and newstand price. I also subscribe to FW, 4WD&SU, P:4WDOR, Offroad, LROI, Overlander and Rutas....all right, so I'm an addict....

60seriesguy 12-03-2001, 11:54 AM Land Rover Owner International is, in my humble opinion, the best 4x4 magazine anywhere. It's glossy, thick, well layed-out, covers tech, trips, expeditions, hard-core wheeling, historical vehicles, the works. It's monthly, too, which is nice. Expensive, but worth it.
Overlander 4WD is an Aussie magazine, they include a LOT of Land Cruiser-specific material and expedition-style wheeling, which I prefer.
Rutas is a Venezuelan 4x4 magazine, nicer than any of the US 4x4 rags, with about 90% Land Cruiser coverage and some of the most spectacular expedition shots anywhere.
LROI and Overlander offer US subscriptions, for Rutas, you need a Venezuelan contact! :)
For other high-quality 4x4 magazines, check out the Aussie "Bushdriver", "4x4 Australia" and "Australia 4WD", the British "Land Rover Monthly" and "Land Rover World", the German "Offroad" (not related to the US version), the French "Tout Terrain" and "Passion 4x4" and the Venezuelan "Fronteras 4WD". Tons of Land Cruiser coverage on all of the above, except for the Rover ones, of course.
Jettech 12-03-2001, 11:57 AM No I don't usally get it but this month (the one your talking about) has a piece on our local tral (Carnage canyon) and the cover shot is the Avalance rig wheeling there:D :D
