No, not the rufugee types!:flipoff2: I'm talking about anyone that knows anything about boats.
Some of you may remember that I sank my pops boat over the 4th of july, well I am putting it back together, and I have one thing. I don't recall if the exhaust pipes had this crack in them before. its on both pipes, nice and smooth, looks kinda like it was supposed to be this way, but I havent a clue. anyone know? btw, they are off of a 455 olds engine, and the are 'hardin' brand exhaust logs. water runs through them and the exit under the water line. ie, they are not the 'dry stacks' that you consently burn yourself on.
thanks

No worries, d00d. I don't know if they were there before or not, but they may be for expansion for when they gets hot. Even if they weren't, they won't hurt anything there.
Edit: They appear to be aluminum, so they would probably need that on the cast iron Olds head.

That's normal. The port part of the manifold will be much hotter than the log. The flanges need to have some ability to move and expand.
