The guy who's friend had made the C-clip eliminators for the rear axle? I thought they were going to be offering up the kit for sale?

Anyone?

Jimmy -

Quit fawkin' around and go FF :D :D

Only problem comes if ya run the lock out hubs instead of a drive plate - people can play tricks on ya by unlocking the rear axle and watching the confusion on your face as you try to take off on a trail run. I speak from experience - my wife did it to me right after I installed the FF rear. I was momentarily stumped to let off the clutch and not go anywhere....checked the e-brake, looked for something chocked under the tires......then saw the rear shaft spinning - DOH:eek: :rasta: Wife sat there and laughed whiloe I gave her a quick :flipoff2: :flipoff2: and headed off for some wheeling.

I read a post the other day about how the guy who was developing the c clip eliminator, was basically a con artisit. Isnt it the one with the crysler 3rd? I think I read it in the toy board. Anyway he ended up screwing alot of people. there was a post a long time ago about him losing a truck or somthing or other. My memory is pretty good huh?

Money and creativity. Copy the basic design from Warn or Toyota and build a rear FF. Alloy axle shafts are available from Warn from their FF kit, or custom shafts cost around $300-$400 for both sides and you can probably do the housing mods and buy Toy parts (spindles, calipers, rotors, hubs) for close to $300.

If I remember correctly, there was a guy on the east coast that was providing everything (including axle shafts) to do the FF conversion. The thread was on LCML a few yrs back....Tupp was his name if my memory serves.

Good luck -- I thought about going that route, but couldn't fabricate worth a crap back then.
