I've got a HP 9" front with stock 30 outers that I've been told I can run 44 outers on. This may be a newb question but are their hubs available that will allow the stock bolt pattern or do I have to run eight lug rims?

Thanks

I cant answer that question. The axle was built by currie; when asked they mentioned I could run 44 knuckles.

are the balljoints in the knuckle or the "c"?
if they're in the knuckle, then yes.

yes there are hubs available or yes I can run the knuckle? I am pretty sure I can run the knuckle, just unsure about the bolt pattern issue

OK, curry likes to use CJ dana 30 knuckles. They are pretty good knuckles to use because the tie rod is high etc. I think what they usually do is use the CJ spindle hub and rotor and outer axle shaft. The disadvantage to all this stuff is it uses the bolt on style locking hub, and the stub axle that goes with it. I am not sure if they use CJ stub axles which use the 260x ujoint or scout stubs that are exactly the same but reamed out for the 297 u-joint. but I hope you get 297 size joints for all that money. Anyway if you want to use the CJ spindle you can use the CJ stuff like above or another popular thing is to use a 1/2 ton chevy spindle (72-76 disc brake 4x4 app) with a ford 1/2 ton hub and rotor(76-86 broncoor 1/2 ton) You use the chevy stub axle and the normal internal splined lockouts with this setup. For the brakes there are a couple different style CJ knuckles that give diferent caliper mount options, or you can mount up the chevy backing plate and chevy caliper. Depending on which knuckle you have you will need to do minor/major cutting and grinding to make this clear, but you don't effect the strength of the knuckle you just kill the stock caliper mounts. any of the balljoint non TTB dana 44 knuckles will also work. and you can use all the outers from a single application. F150 has the advantage that the bore through the knuckle is bigger so you can take out screwed up axle shafts easier, but it has very low steering arms and no flat top knuckles(250s do but with different brake stuff) Chevy and Wagoneer 44 outers are the same but 6 lug, you can swap on the ford hub and rotor to get the 5 lug pattern, as long as it is pre 76 (after that the inner wheel bearing went to the larger size common to the 3/4 ton). These have flat top knuckles some of the years and are a good way to go if you want to do high steer. Hope that helps. I don't know exactly what you have or what you want, so I can't be too specific, just a general overview of what options there are
