I seem to have lots of time to think with my Rodeo down and another thought popped in my head today at work.Is it possible to take one of those portable air tanks with the proper plumbing and connect it to my AC compessor to run air on my Rodeo?I don't need to run air tool(don't have any of those) I just want to be able to fill my tires after a run or help some one on the trail if they blow a bead and go flat(resetting the bead then airing up).I was thinking of bolting down the tank in the back and piping it into the compressor of course having a regulator on the tank but my question is really more of once the tank is full do I put a blow off valve in line so any "extra" air can go someplace. The other part is would the AC switch on my dash work as a nice manual off button for the day to day driving when putting air in the tank is not needed.I just need some ideas and thought y'all might be the place to go.Now tear me up....:flipoff2:

If you don't need your A/C for keeping you cool, here in Texas a working A/C's is mandentory. Then for this to work as an onboard air you just need a pressure cut off switch plumb inthe air side and wire it into the electric a/c clutch. Power that wire with a relay and put the "on/off" switch in the cab. Don't forget to add a small filter like a Chevy valve cover filter on you compressor intake. That way you can remove it occasionally to oil the compressor.
This will give you all the air you want and once it's up to your desired pressure it will cut it's self off until you start using it and the pressure drops off. You can get this pressure switch at Home Depot or any of those stores that sell air tools.
Plumb in a lline to the front and rear with quick disconnects and a nice length of hose. ( Cause all your buddies are going to want you to air their tires up while your at it.)and your set. You can get a small tank for air storage. If your lifted you will have a lot of room above the rear axle for you tank.
I used a air tank off a tractor trailer. It's a 3 gallon size used for air brakes.
Me, I use CO2 tank and an electric compressor.
