Couple of questions. My Dad is getting ready to start a four link on the rear of his TJ and want to move/redesign the gastank. Has anyone had any sucess with changing the gastank on a TJ. Did you just reuse the sending unit? Where did you put it? Even with bottom of frame up through the tub or just in the tub are our ideas. On the rear, he is running an 8.8 and the stock swaybar. This will not really work with the four link, but he still wants to retain one. Has anybody used an Antirock type swaybar? How did you mount it? I know Currie does this, but they also run a full tube rear so there is no interference. Thanks.

For the Antirock stuff search for the name "CJ Lagos". He has a TJ with custom link suspension on 40" Boggers. He is running Currie Antirocks front and rear. I don't have know his website address but someone else might be able to chip in with it. It's got a bunch of pics showing his buildup and such.

For the gas tank stuff search for the name "Nasvik". He's got a TJ that he raised the tank on. He raised it like 6" or something so it goes into the "bed" of the Jeep a little. Really nice work and he's got a website too. Dont know what his is either but someone can help and post a link.

To both those mentioned above, I hope you don't mind me pimping your work out, its just that both you guys do really good work and it seems like it could help in this case.

Like BAJ said, I used a fuel cell in my TJ. This required me changing the fuel rail on the manifold though, so I could have feed/return lines to the tank. The TJ fuel setup and I think all the OBDII keep constant pressure on the fuel rail with one fuel line, and excess fuel just leaks back into the tank.

If you want your setup to remain stock(stock gas gauge, etc), I recommend moving the stock tank up like the other guys did.

Also, I used a custom swaybar from www.stockcarproducts.com
It works great.

For a while I had my 4link setup with the tank in the stock location, unless your moving the axle back, you should be ok.

No problem BabyWrangle...

That was the type of info I was looking for on the swaybar. How did you mount it?

He probably wouldn't mind not having a working gauge, can you explain what was involved in making the fuel cell work? Was it just canging the fuel rail? Where did you get the new one? The plan is to try to get the gas tank to work with the axle further back, but without sacrificing to much inside space.

YellowCJ,

It was pretty simple, I used a fuel rail from a YJ then used factory feed/return lines off of the rail and stainless line to the fuel cell. I used a frame rail mounted fuel pump/filter from mpi kit.

As far as space in the rear, that's entirely up to whatever cell you choose. I used a 20 gallon cell which is pretty big, recently i saw a bunch of shapes that might work in a TJ better.

As far as the swaybar...I cut holes in both sides of the frame and slid a piece of 1.75" tubing through it, then got the bar custom made.

Oh, I dont think you can get the gas guage to work easily, the sending unit must use some weird resistances, I guess you could build a converter box though.

Let me know if I can help at all,
CJ
