Is that too much?

I'm talking a stock wheelbase 5, not stretched or anything. I'm pretty sure I sold my YJ :( and I didn't get as much as I wanted :( so instead of trying to "hurry up" and get it on the road, I'm gonna take a year and do it right.

Anybody have pix of one?

Heres one on 38s.. it's doable.. With wider axles.. Donno if I'd wanna run em on stock axles.<br>http://rubicon.extremejeep.com/~mike/greenmachine.jpg

Mike,

What axles are you running under that beast!

I was thinking 44's and 36" tires, but with going 38's, I'm thinking a 14bolt rear and a 60 front.

That and with poor light the fenders actually look straight...

Right now it has 44's and 36's under it. Things are changing though and it'll probably end up with 60's and 38's or 40's.. course it's getting stretched too. Steve.. yeah I think thats the best it's ever looked since I owned it.. and it hides the floppy fenders dont it? ;) http://rubicon.extremejeep.com/~mike/jeep2.jpg http://rubicon.extremejeep.com/~mike/jeep2.jpg http://rubicon.extremejeep.com/~mike/jeep2.jpg

Mike, or WP, yea, watch out, newbie question coming.

I can get a full floater 60 for 100 bucks (rear), but the size of the drums are HUGE.

I don't think that a 15" wheel would work, would it? But is it the 16" or 16.5" wheels that suck as far as beads.

(I'm just now getting into the "bigass" Jeeps, I need to understand them better, and the engineering that goes behind them)

For instance, would this work on a 5.

Corp14 bolt rear, dana 60 front (or dana 60 rear). Outboard the front springs, spring over (obviously) with like 4" springs? Minor fender trimming. :D

Obviously, I would need 8 lug rims, but 15", 16" or 16.5"

Anything else I need to consider?

I'd go with 16" beadlocks... course you might be able to make the 15's work. Go disc rear and grind the front calipers down to clear. People do that all the time. btw its the 16.5's that dont have much of a safety bead on em
