Twelve Cuban migrants attempt to cross the Florida Straights Wednesday, July 16, 2003 in a boat fashioned out of a 1951 Chevy pickup truck driving it within 40 miles of the United States before they were found by the U.S. Coast Guard (news - web sites) and returned to Cuba.

Thats the FIRST thing came to mind this morning when I saw that article.

That's kind of cool. Too bad the Coast Guard sunk it.

I can't help thinking that anyone who is resourceful and talented enough to come up with THAT idea and obviously make it work, is EXACTLY the kind of immigrant we WANT.

In addition to all that, they got the stones, and confidence in their work to hop on it and point it out to open seas... in hurricane season...

Gee, I hope they took the time to drain all the fluids and make it evironmentally friendly first. I would hate for Geen Peace or the sierra club or someone like that to get a hold of this kind of information. They could sue the gov. and have the entire ocean closed:flipoff2:
