is dynamat extreme that much better to warrant the price difference? Has anyone ever tried this stuff?

there are websites about using roofing mtl. my friend did it in his beater, way cheaper, works ok and is cheap. It smelled like roofing for 2 weeks:(

yeh dynamat is overpriced.

check JC whitney, they have some head/sound absorption padding that is virtually the same thing for a ton cheaper.

you can also use sound absorption material from McMaster Carr like HaveBlue mentioned, or you can try acoustical duct liner, which you can pick up at sheet metal shops. i guarantee that duct liner works better than dynamat!
