: Ford Shock towers on rear?

I am redoing my rear shock mounts and would like to mount the shocks vertically. Has anyone done this? I am thinking the shock would bind due to flex. I am just not a fan of the 45 degree scock mount, and if I did that I would have to get my exhaust redone. My shocks are currently using all stock mounting points but they are to short and longer shocks will not fit in their place.

Yes, but vertical. Do your shocks bind on up travel?

bind as in bind or bind as in bottom out? Just because they are angled doesn't mean that they'll bind. The ends can rotate in their mounts.

Oops, I see you are trying to use Ford shock mounts in the rear. That could bind given enough travel. It would be easier to make some like samiguy has so the shock can travel in an arc.

mine are straight up and down in the rear, with front upper mounts from rro on the rear. Works perfectly fine, just need offset wheels.

nope, no binding. Works great, less body roll with them this way.

That is exactly why I want to do it this wat...body roll.
