OK, I have an 88' yj- 4.2 lit, 4 inch pro comp lift, (+1 inch in the shackles), slip yoke eliminater, 4 kc lights, brush guard, alloy wheels, and a buncha other crap. Even though the engine was just rebuilt, I don't feel like I have enough power. Will stripping the hard top, back seat and doors actually make that much of a difference? I have a hard time believing it will. I currently only have 31's with stock gears and no lockers (but I have room for 35's). I want to do that all at once and don't have the money right now. What else could I do for noticable power? I need feedback!!! And while I'm on a role here, can anyone tell me if those optima batterys get rid of slow cold starts?

Take it to the newbie forum, I recomend a 6 inch body lift to clear the 35's and a K&N air filter will boost your power by at least 50 to 60%. When you install the K&N though you will need a metric crecent wrench, also drain the blinker fluid and loose the muffler bearings they just slow you down. When you finish doing all these mods you will need a big :rainbow: colored drag shoot just to slow you down.:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:  :flipoff2:

The best thing you can do is ensure that your Carter BBD and associated systems are working correctly. There is lots of good info here:

Look at the bottom of the page for links to a number of helpful pages.

If smog is not an issue, give the Cater and all the other crap the finger and install a Webber.

Optima's won't improve cold weather starting over any other healthy battery of the same capacity. They just last a helluva lot longer.

BTW, don't let all the :flipoff2:'s and :rainbow:'s discourage you from asking questions. It's only the internet, after all.
